“Jailhouse Rock” is a song written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller that first became a hit for Elvis Presley. The song was released as a 45rpm single on September 24, 1957, to coincide with the release of Presley’s motion picture, Jailhouse Rock.
The song as sung by Elvis Presley is #67 on Rolling Stone’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was named one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. Continue reading
“It’s Too Late” is a #1 song from Carole King’s 1971 album Tapestry (see 1971 in music). Toni Stern wrote the lyrics and King wrote the music. The piano part is audibly similar to the opening song of Stephen Shwartz’ musical Pippin, “Magic to Do”.
King’s version of “It’s Too Late” peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts‒on the Hot 100 as a double A-side with “I Feel the Earth Move”.
King’s version of “It’s Too Late” was certified Gold by the RIAA.

“It’s Now or Never” is a popular song recorded by Elvis Presley and published by Gladys Music, Elvis Presley’s publishing company, in 1960. The melody of the song is adapted from the Italian standard, “‘O Sole Mio”, but the inspiration for it came from the song, “There’s No Tomorrow”, recorded by U.S. singer, Tony Martin, in 1949.
